So, what do I do as an IELTS tutor (and ex-speaking /writing examiner)

I give an insider’s diagnosis of why you might not be reaching the IELTS score you need, and a prescribe a plan- usually a series of one-on-one lessons- to get you to that score.

  • It could be that you need to study time management techniques and learn more about the questions types.
  • It could be as simple as misunderstanding one task, or an habitual mistake you make that you didn’t know you were making.
  • It might be just practice and confidence.
  • It could be that you need to study more English in general.
  • Perhaps you need more English just in one area, for example speaking or vocabulary…

Whether you are about to take the IELTS (or the PTE) Test for the first time, or whether you’ve taken it over and over, with the same result that not quite enough, lets discuss how I can help you.

Personalized Lessons

So you need to pass an English exam (IELTS or PTE) to get a score for your work visa, student visa or residency…. and you have a number of months.  Don’t take the test 4, or 5 or 6 times hoping to hit the jackpot and get the score you need. It’s not luck and tricks or memorization will only get you to about a 5.5. Taking the test numerous time without proper preparation and improving your overall English skill will not help.

Which test, IELTS or PTE for me?

That depends on what type of learner you are, what type of experience you have and a few other things such as how you focus concentration.

I can test you and talk you through the pros and cons of each test.

Then you decide which test will be suitable for you and I set a weekly plan that improves your general English while studying and practicing the procedures for your test.

Writing, marking and editing service.

If you just want to improve your writing, I can send you a batch of 5 writing tests (5 essays) and mark them with detailed corrections, explanations and suggestions for $150. They will be sent back with detailed edits and feedback.

Who am I?

I am a teacher, examiner and trainer.  I’m based in Sydney but I do this around the world via Skype.

I’m Australian born, raised and educated but worked for a year in India with IDP as a writing and speaking examiner. I have over 10 years experience teaching IELTS.

I also have extensive experience with the PTE.

When I am not working in IELTS & PTE, I am a professional writer.
