The Australian Government released an update on 3 Dec 2024 regarding the commencement of the Skills in Demand Visa and the Core Skills Occupation List.
The recent Core Skills Occupation List (CSOL) is a consolidated list which the immigration depart says has been informed by labour market analysis and stakeholder consultations. It covers access to temporary skilled migration for 456 occupations and applies to the new Skills in Demand visa, which will replace the Temporary Skill Shortage visa on 7 December 2024.
The CSOL also applies to the Direct Entry stream of the permanent Employer Nomination Scheme visa. More details on other reforms, including the Skills in Demand visa and National Innovation visa, will be announced shortly. S
